Change the price. Start the next job.
Shopify Flow can now react to selected product edits. It supplies the current values, so comparisons with the old price need more planning.

A product edit can now start a Shopify Flow workflow. Announced on 28 October, the Product updated trigger lets merchants monitor up to five product or variant fields, including prices, tags and metafields. A change to any selected field starts the workflow; unrelated edits do not.
That creates a practical route from catalogue maintenance to the next task. Shopify gives the example of updating a metafield that depends on other product information. A shop could also design a review step after a price edit, rather than relying on someone to remember it.
There is an important limit: the workflow receives current field values, not the previous ones. It can inspect the new price, but cannot directly retrieve the old price from this trigger. Our take: define whether the task needs the current state or a before-and-after comparison before building it.
The documentation also notes that monitoring some variant or media fields can trigger a run when a product is first added. For example, watching variant prices can include product creation. Check that case before enabling a workflow across the catalogue.
This is a documented capability, not a tested time saving. Its usefulness depends on the conditions and actions the merchant adds.
